The Inability to Forgive

But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” Mathew 6:15

In order to forgive our sins, God made a condition, we as well should forgive others, furthermore, Jesus demanded more saying But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you" Mathew 5:44, so God wants us to forgive and love the others unconditionally. Our inability to forgive is:

Ÿ  Pride, which  causes us to lose our “divine wisdom”, pride   is the opposite of humility,   “When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom." Proverbs 11:2

Ÿ  Lack  of love, we know that from the fruits of the Holy Spirit comes love, our inability to forgive means we have no repletion in The Holy spirit.

Ÿ  Overconfidence, by insisting  that we are always right, “my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.”Hosea 4:6, being overly confidant that I am right, blinds me and prevents me from seeing the truth in the bible, this is evident when  God is not present   in my life.

Ÿ  Looking back repeatedly, When Lot’s wife was walking with God, he warned her from looking backwards. When we  keep looking backwards , we disobey God and we admit that we are no longer walking in God’s path because we cannot forgive the others by going back and repeatedly remembering their wrongdoings.

Ÿ  Judging the others, Lord Jesus warns us from judging, by doing so we bring judgment onto us  Do not judge, or you too will be judged" Mathew 7:1

Ÿ  Stubbornness, God uses many ways to reach us and deliver his messages of salvation, but our stubborn rebellious heart resists God’s word and makes us act against his will."For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry…” 1 Samuel 15:23 so stubbornness is equal to being idolatrous.

If we live a life without Jesus “the divine wisdom”, if the presence of The Holy spirit lacks in my life, if God is not present in my life, if I don’t walk his path, moreover,   if to him I am like an idolatrous and deserving God’s judgment according to the bible, if I am all that how can I expect God to forgive me?!

“Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me. Lord Jesus Christ, forgive my sins. Lord Jesus Christ, keep me away from all the evil passions and sinful thoughts. Lord Jesus Christ, make me your obedient worshiper.

Lord Jesus Christ, guide me to the port of eternal life. Jesus, my love, strengthen my faith, hope and love. Jesus, my love, paint my soul with virtue, humility and patience;  and my mind with your knowledge and wisdom. Jesus, my love, fulfill me in your love and the love to the others, with prayers of the only one who you chose to be your holy mother and the prayers of all the other saints, Amen” ( a prayer by father Anba Isaiah Halabi the hermit)
